Tale of the Tail....

After dropping Maggie off at school yesterday, I took the other kids to the park for a minute.  There she sat, swinging aimlessly on the swings.  Pumping her legs, moving up and down, up and down.  It was a girl with.................................a tail.  A TAIL? Was I really seeing this HUMAN with a furry, bushy tail swishing in the breeze? Indeed I was.   So, I did what any self respecting, "GREAT" blogger would do.  I whipped out the camera and took a few pics.  What?  You know you're glad I did that.  And these pics beg a few questions:

Number ONE:

What the HELL with the TAIL?
This is not the first time I've seen someone with a tail. Which come to think of it is disturbing in and of itself.  But I DID see that "other" person at Wal-Mart, so you know...normal.
Universe, or Blogosphere...can you tell me what this is all about?
Brooklyn was quite disconcerted by this girl and her tail.

NUMBER TWO:

Why is this clearly teenage girl/fox swinging on the swings at the park at 10:30 in the morning?  Hmmmmm

NUMBER THREE:

What is the meaning of these moon boots she's wearing?
I'm just genuinely perplexed by this whole fashion trend.  Anyone out there got an answer?

If so.....please do tell.

What the hell is the tail?

Fur and furrowed brows,

Allyson

i saw something like that on "what not to wear". imagine that....a tail is considered a fashion faux pas. who knew?!?!?! of course, if you saw it on someone in WALMART...then you can rest assured that it's the latest in posh fashion ;) who knows what they are thinking. the moon boots are cool though...i could use those to add an extra few inches to my height so i'd at least be almost normal sized!

I went to high school with a girl that wore a tail like that. Her name was Brooke, but she insisted on being called Red Fox. But again, I went to NSA which is kind of like Walmart...

Alison beat me to it. Yeah, there was a girl on What Not To Wear who always wore a tail and ears. Weirdo.

Homeschooling? j/k That was a funny post.

There is a whole "furry" community that dress like animals. She might think she is dumbing down the outfit so as to be *less* startling

I guess I have watched a little too much What Not To Wear because all I could think was, " She's just wearing these werido things to detract attention from her face/body or the fact that she has no self-esteem. Then people will just focus on the weird tail and not on anything else she isn't comfortable with." of course, Stacy and Clinton are right. People, in general, just think you're a crazy freak.

Bahahaha! Holly-good one with homeschool comment. Maybe she is "special." That is my guess.

Was she not aware or disturbed that you were photographing her? I've seen a fox-tailed girl once before at a Wendy's in Blythe. Clearly it is a fashion trend among weirdos who will one day (I pray) come to their senses and be horribly embarrassed that they used to wear a tail. Or maybe they are into some video game where they are trying to be their character in real life. Whatever it is....it's creepy.

What the ham sandwhich? I'm all for free fashion, but no. Just no.

And where exactly do you find animal tails to wear?!? Does Walmart carry that little fashion gem?

That is my cousin.

I'm totally kidding about it being my cousin. I've never see someone with a tail and I think I'd probably start laughing if I did. I can't even imagine the questions or statement that would come from my little guy. I love your blog. One of my sisters reads it too. It is always entertaining and realistic.
