Behold!

BEHOLD....I give you the pink and SPARKLY shoe!
These shoes have magical properties of which I do not comprehend. They have become Maggies shoe of choice, her ONLY choice. Screaming and angry, just show her the shoes, sad and crying, need a pick me up, put on the shoes. Wearing turquoise shirt and brown pants, no matter, MUST be these shoes. Wearing jeans and a black shirt, no matter. Just woke up and still in your pj's? Who CARES, these shoes go with EVERYTHING.

Here's another view, just so you can appreciate their true lovliness. These little beauties were a gift to Maggie from Aunt Lana for her first birthday. At the time Maggie was still wearing size 2, and these are 5 1/2's. Yeah I know right? That was SOME growth spurt in the last 6 months. Anyway, they seemed enormous and as if they'd never fit. Finally, last month they fit, and in the last week they have truly become Maggies joy in life. Literally, as soon as she wakes up, she insists on putting on her "ya yas". I don't know, she just says yah yahs and it means shoe, because if you ask her what she means, she signs shoe. So this morning, Jere got her out of bed, and when she came walking into the kitchen, this is how she looked:

Just a little night shirt and her awesome, sparkly yah yahs. By the way, I asked her if I could take a picture, and she wouldn't allow me until she sat in this position. As you can see from the picture below, most of the time when I try to take a picture of her I get this:

So frustrating. She really has a VERY strong mind and will of her own. Hmmm, wonder where she gets THAT from. Anyway, lastly, no girl can truly be a princess (pink shoes or not) until she's put on her makeup (or discovered Moms and made messes).

Who knows what I was doing, cleaning up something or paying bills, I don't know. All I know is, I walked into the kitchen and she ran suspiciously into the bathroom. Upon closer inspection, I found her with a tube of lipstick and this AWESOME application job. It sort of looks like she made a heart on one side and a star on the other. She was feeling pretty great, until I flicked her hand and washed it all off. Guess it's time to find a higher place for the makeup.

Lipstick dreams and sparkly shoe wishes,
Allyson

Love it-
I wish they has them in my size. I could use some of that magic.

As for the note on my blog,
I just play in publisher. I'm no pro- but I'd be happy to help you design something! I just have a lot of fun.

Just wait until it's a rainbow swimming suit that she has to wear every day. Luckily pink sparkly shoes go with everything! :)

It doesn't get any better than that, sparkly shoes and lipstick!

So, the pink shoes came from Aunt Lana? Doesn't surprise me. Lana has always had a fetish for shoes. My wonderfully wealthy sister-in-law gave us the clothes from her girls, including a pair of tap shoes, when Erlynne was little. They hid in the closet, too small, after Erlynne couldn't wear them. Then one day Lana found them, just about the time she started walking. They were too big and sloppy (just like Maggie's pinks), but she wore them anyway. One day family from Utah came to visit, and Lana had the tap shoes on, playing outside on the driveway. Leslee said: "You don't need to ever wonder where that girl is. You can hear her coming. What a great way to keep track of a two year old!" She went home to Utah and put tap shoes on her two year old when they played outside so she could hear where they were.
I forsee that Maggie will have a fetish for styish shoes!

I agree. The pink sparkly shoes are a definite fashion statement. Unlike the long flowing blue satin bathrobe that Tucker had to drag through the SLC airport at that age. He wasn't wearing it, but he would not let it go!
BTW, the singing thing seems to have struck a resounding note. Take the good lessons when you can get them. That's my attitude with him lately.

Maybe my mom's story of me wearing tap shoes is where my son's fetish with tap shoes came from. Somehow not as fitting on a 2 year old boy. :) P.S.--The magical powers in the shoes is called "Love and Admiration for her Wonderful Aunt Lana". :)

Love the lipstick adornments...so chic! The picture of her in her t-shirt and shoes is priceless. Brooklyn hasn't ever really had a fetish with anything that she had to absolutely have with her or wear at all times. She loves anything and everything girly, but Mags cracks me up with her "must haves". Cute.

My girls all have a shoe fetish. The older they get the more the shoes cost. Ellie's choice of shoe lately is purple sparklie sandles, or shiny red flats. Just a word of caution though. You can already see her wanting to look "beautiful" with the lipstick added in, keep sciscors up high and out of the way! All my girls have also butched their hair at least once. Kymber did it at least 4 times before kindergarden. Be aware it all goes together with the "beautiful" stuborness. Too cute though.

Love the shoes! All of my girls have had something like that and I wish I would have written the adventures down. I love Maggie she makes for such great posts! She is adorable!
