It was 6:30 a.m. and there he was...Max...standing at my bedside with Maggie.
WHAAAAT? Was this a bad dream? A sick joke? This could NOT be a good thing. Last I checked he was snug as a bug in his crib. He was SAFELY ensconced in his "cage."
Now, here he was....staring me in my morning face. How did this happen?
He was only too happy to oblige me and SHOW me how. Take a looksy for yourselves.
Yep, this is a MOST unfortunate discovery for him to make, FOR SURE!
(did I mention that with maggie we never even moved the crib down from the highest setting and she NEVER once attempted to climb out, much less got out? Yeah, this kid is ALLLL busy boy.)
Anyone got a spare crib tent they wanna loan me for a couple months? I'm NOT ready to give up my peace of mind just yet.
File this one under "the suck".
Monkey boys and early mornings,
Allyson

Ugh...I remember those days.
I love how your daughter said "I'm so proud of you Maxy"
What a cute sister :)
Oh wow. That sucks! He is one strong little boy.
Well, that was easy enough!
Is it bad that I laughed my head off as he showed a reenactment of his escape? Max is one smart kid. I love that he said "I get outta there." Hilarious!
Do they make those crib tents for teenagers? I need one asap!
He looked like he was so proud of himself. I have no idea what you could do to stop him from climbing out. Good luck on finding a solution.

Ha ha! Well, he is turning 2 next month, right? If I were you I'd just leave it as is for now--Dane climbed out for awhile before I got his big boy bed all set up. It was a little easier for me because I didn't have to get him out of the bed anymore--he'd do it for himself. It's a bit of a pain for naps, but at night Dane was always so tired that he was happy to get in his crib. What can we expect from these monkey boys?? (Well, as I recall, Tatum actually climbed out of her bed sooner than Dane did. But she's a special case...)
That is hilarious, I am with you, Macy turned 2 in June and I am in noooo hurry to let her out of the crib just yet... although on mornings when I am feeling like I want to lay in bed longer, I will have one of her brothers get her out of the bed and bring her to me instead of getting her myself...
Hilarious. I remember my son becoming an escape artist back in the day. I am cracking up at the encouragement his sister is giving.
How could you not be "so proud of Maxy" when he is so proud of himself. For the record, when they were here on Jenny's moving day I kept hearing the bedroom door open and close. I couldn't figure it out...Maggie was clearly in the living room, Brooklyn was asleep and so I decided to just "peek" in the bedroom. There was Maxy out of the pack and play having a wonderful time. He just didn't think he dared to come out of the room! Good luck! ;)
I had a crib tent with Olivia...until she smeared poop all over it. Ugh
first....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! say goodbye to secure sleeping ;) i can't tell you how many nights i've woken up to find chandler 2.1 millimeters from my face. just breathing on me and whatnot. we actually put him in a toddler bed at around 18 months because that's when we moved and i was far too lazy to put the crib BACK together again. fortunately, he keeps his nighttime ramblings to a minumum. usually, homeboy is zonked out until at least 7:30. unless, of course, i want to sleep til 7:30.....in which case it's all GOOD MORNING, MOMMY at around 5:00 am. i love that max is all boy. he's so rotten and SO proud of himself when he got out. such a cute patootie!
second of all....i don't know what i thought your voice would sound like, but that wasn't it! i suppose i think that everyone in the world has a southern accent. i am SO never putting a video with me talking on my blog.... you would fall outta your chair lauging and you'd probably block me and unfriend me!
So cute! And what a great big sister who's there to cheer him on. :) Poor Mommy, whatcha gonna do?
That does such! Your life is officially over. I'm dreading this day with Wyatt. My favorite part is that Maggie is cheering him on and his so proud of him. :)
I kind of love your morning voice! ;) And I love when Maggie says, "I'm so proud of you Maxy!" Oh man...boys and their climbing. :)
Oh yeah. It's unfortunate, isn't it? Two of my three boys are climbers. The other day I went to pee and when I came out, Coby (my almost-one-year-old) was standing on top of my PRINTER. He's gotten the hang of pushing stuff like the laundry basket up to things and using it as a stepstool.
I will pray for you. :)
I love maggie's comments.. Too cute!
Holy cow! He's the second of my friends kids to make the crib break this week. I'm so glad we're not to that stage yet. I'm sure James will figure it out on Tuesday or something, but still. He can sleep in that crib till he's 15 for all I care!
That is a sad day when they learn to climb out. Carter figured out how to reach over and pull himself out (and land on his head on the ground) at 10 months. I was sooo not happy and not about to give up, so I sat by his crib every night and made him sit down everytime he stood up until he got tired and went to sleep. Looong nights. But after a while he stopped and didn't do it again till he was 2. Good luck on that one!
